Collecting Personal Information
CareerMaker collects personal data necessary to provide services in a proprietary and highly confidential database accessible only by CareerMaker. If you submit an inquiry via an online form or email, we may collect your name, email address, or other personal information contained in that correspondence. If you are an employer or potential client, we may collect your name, position title, contact details, executive search services requested, or other information that you provide via online forms or email correspondence. If you are a potential candidate, we may collect your name and contact details, current and past professional experience, educational background, and other data that you provide online through a form or a resume. CareerMaker does not seek to collect any “sensitive” personal information, such as racial or ethnic origin, political, religious, or similar beliefs, sexual life, social security or other government identification numbers, trade union membership, health or medical conditions, or criminal record unless legally required for recruiting purposes.
Using Personal Information
CareerMaker may use personal information to respond to your inquiries and/or provide you with requested information, related to our executive search services, such as evaluating candidate qualifications, contacting potential candidates for further personal information, and communicating with clients (about potential candidates). We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as testing and maintaining our company databases, networks, computer systems, and training.
Disclosing Personal Information
Your personal information may be used anonymously to gather industry, employment and/or marketing statistics. CareerMaker also monitors IP addresses for security purposes, trend analysis, website administration, user movement tracking, and broad demographic information gathering for aggregate use.
CareerMaker maintains technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. To the extent that we disclose personal information to third party subcontractors, we require that such third parties also maintain reasonable security and confidentiality measures. In addition, where we disclose personal information to clients and other third parties, we will request that they properly protect the security and confidentiality of such information, and otherwise process such data in accordance with applicable law.
Newsletter, Website/Service Updates and Surveys
CareerMaker may offer newsletters to registered and unregistered users of the website via email. If you wish to unsubscribe from a newsletter, please follow the directions at the bottom of the newsletter and you will be taken off the recipient list. CareerMaker will periodically email you website update information and service announcement updates. On occasion, we may request information from you via surveys. Survey participation is completely voluntary as to whether to disclose information. Information requested may include contact and demographic information. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring, improving or enhancing the use and satisfaction of the website.
